I started watching this thing I found on On Demand called "IMAX Hubble" and I expected, I dunno, talk about how the telescope was made -- which is interesting, don't get me wrong -- and maybe some of the pictures it sent back. I. I was wrong. I had to pause it ten minutes in and call my brother, telling him to come and watch this with me because.
You've seen pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope, I'm sure, but not like this. Not like this. They're showing footage from the telescope, into -- where I paused it -- the Orion Nebula. If you thought a picture of it was pretty, wait till you see video of it. I actually gasped when I saw it going through the clouds of the nebula. If you've played Final Fantasy X -- that shot of the farplane? That's what it looks like. Except trillions of miles across and made of clouds.
And real.
And out there.
And.
I am literally on the verge of tears. That's how incredible this footage is. My jaw dropped and I just gaped.
It was five dollars to download, and it was worth every penny. If you've got Comcast on your TV and can download this, do it. Even if you're not a space geek like I am, it's still incredibly beautiful and awe-inspiring and amazing.
